Jake walked forward when his name was called. He sat down on the stool and the hat brushed his head then shouted out Slytherin. He smirked and walked to the table.
‘Robyn Zzyna!’
NV looked up from the floor when Robyn was called out. She ‘hid’ a smile and walked confidently towards the stool, and the hat. Sitting down, thoughts blocked to others were running through her head.
What if the hat recognises me?
Impossible!
I’m one person!
It couldn’t possibly remember me!
But what if it does?
You don’t need to worry, cus it won’t!
The hat was on her head and she felt it’s presence in her mind. It was silent. She sat there patiently, but after a few seconds it still hadn’t said anything.
‘Err . . . hat? Are you going to say anything?’ she thought, still pretending to be Robyn.
She heard a cough. ‘I’ve already sorted you! Why are you here?’
‘I’m sorry, but I’ve got no idea what you’re talking about.’
‘Yes, you do Es-’
‘Don’t say my name!’ NV interrupted. ‘It’s Robyn to you and everyone else.’
If the hat had eyebrows, they would’ve raised quite a bit.
‘Yes but the fact still remains that you’ve already been sorted. I can’t sort you again!’
‘You don’t have to. Just put me back in Slytherin.’ She thought casually. If the hat didn’t put her in Slytherin, the whole plan would be useless.
It was quiet for about ten second; then the hat agreed. ‘Fine.’ NV sensed reluctance in the thought and smirked slightly.
‘Slytherin.’ The hat said to the silent hall, slightly quieter than he’d said the rest of the houses.
Robyn bounced of the stool and over to the Slytherin table. All eyes followed her to the table. Hers had probably been one of the longest sortings they'd seen. She sat down in between Jake and Auria and opposite Tara. ‘Hey.’ She said enthusiastically. ‘Isn’t this great! Your sisters didn’t like the sound of you coming here did they?!’ she said smiling at Auria.
