Sophia burst out laughing; having realised moments after having spoken that she'd probably babbled nonsense, incredibly relieved that Meally had understood.
"Ican'twait!!"
She smiled again and looked around at all the other faces in the hall.

shame it's all so cliche though! i mean, it's just so predictable what people write, they're either confident and stuff, or all nervous and relieved at what house they get put in.
So Sophia went up to the sorting hat, got it plonked on her head, squirmed around for a second and got sorted after a moments hesitation into...
"Gryfindor!"

Professor Saul lifted the hat of Sophia's head, who happily moved towards the Gryffindor table.
'Entis, Tenuka.' Saul said clearly.
Tenuka breathed in, then smiled. She walked towards the stool, then sat down. She felt the hat being placed on top of her head, then she heard a voice.
'Hm . . . ' it said.
'You're intelligent I see. And brave too. Lots of power. Let me think . . . ' it said slowly.
'GRYFFINDOR!' the hat called out.
Tenuka smiled and jumped of the stool. She was happy, anything but Hufflepuff was good. She walked over to the Gryffindor table and sat herself down next to Sophia.
She grinned. 'Heya!'
