“Sorry to interrupt Professor- but can I please speak to Miss Livre?” Prof. Pinch poked her head in the classroom and gave a warm smile to the mentioned people, although the latter’s was more pitying.
Kik frowned- she didn’t remember doing anything wrong. Maybe this was because of the incident in Transfiguration, she didn’t MEAN to trip up Karsca and cause him to head butt a desk. And step on him as she walked past. And... Yeah it was an accident. If the prof didn’t believe her she’s say she had a seizure of some kind.
“Sure” she stood up and flicked Sei’s head- he was drooling again. Not that she blamed him. HoM was dreadful. Shrugging at Kyli’s confused glance she walked towards to door only-
“Bring your bag too please Sonho” Kik complied as well as muttering how she was Kik.
They walked down the corridor and up a couple of stairs until they arrived at an empty classroom. Kik looked inside and found the four heads of houses and the dude himself- Thornton. Kik felt better now- she wouldn’t admit of course but she was always a bit nervous when around Pinch. She saw around 30 other students as well. All from different houses and years, she took a seat in nowhere particular, but in the “Gryffindor” part of the room. The Slytherin’s being on the other side, obviously.
Thornton asked for queit, even though no-one was saying a word. “I would like to begin by asking for your apoligies- I’m sorry to have pulled you out of your lessons. I know you think otherwise, but they really are crucial to your bright futures.
Apologising for the next matter at hand is something I do with a sadness I cannot describe. I have had a meeting with the Ministry and various other boards and i’m sorry to say a pressing issue has been raised. I would like to apologise, because I feel I failed as your headmaster.”
Kik (needless to say), was confused. What was he talking about? Failing as their headmaster?
She looked around her and was slightly relieved that no-one else appeared to have a clue either. But she was slightly worried, why did he fail as their headmaster? Not Kyli’s, Cenizo’s, Sei’s, Morfin’s... etc. She turned back to Thornton as he continued.
“The United Kingdom considers it an honour to help people from other nations. Whether seeking asylum or wanting to achieve new goals and make a better person of themselves. However, unfortunately, some people don’t comply by the rules and do resound without the proper authority.”
Now Kik knew why she was here. The other students had realised as well. Tensing up the students slowly clenched their fists and siblings gave nods to each other. However as a whole- Gryffindors, Slytherin’s, Ravenclaw’s and Hufflepuff’s- all mutually agreed to help each other. To help each other to do the one thing they were brought up to do when this day happened.
Run.
Kik sprinted and joined in the cries of:
“No you can’t make me go!”
“We deserve to be here too!”
“Proper authority?!”
“No!”
And the most frequent- “We WON’T leave!”
Down the corridors they went and seemed to be an understanding to head to the Entrance of the grounds. They couldn’t hide in the castle, there would be no point. Where would they hide? Plus, whilst education was important, so were their families. They had to help them- warn them. Tell them to run too.
Mud splashed their uniforms as the youths slipped down the hill, supporting each other ignoring the colours of the ties.
Until they reached the gates.
There was a group of Ministry officials, two with their wands out which were directed at the sixth and seventh years. Being a bunch of school children, a fight would’ve been pointless. But who cared? Even though the first years could only levitate things and change hair colours, the second disarm successfully; they still tried.
Please work, Kik thought to herself “Wingardium Leviosa!” and in spite of everything else, grinned when it worked. The man drew out his wand and pointed it at Kik who flinched and-
“STOP!” and a hazy wall appeared around the students. They all froze, Thornton’s wand high in the air as he continued, “You will not ever cast a spell on a student of Hogwarts”. Kik gulped, she wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that glare.
“They are no longer student’s of Hogwarts Thornton!” One of the men shouted back
“They will always be students of Hogwarts” He retaliated calmly. Then he turned to them “You will always be welcome here. If it were my decision you would never leave. It is out of my control- I am sorry.”
And Kik found herself five minutes later with her trunk sitting on the train and looking at them through the glass. She raised her hand as if to wave goodbye to the castle, but found she wouldn’t wave, she couldn’t.
