It was the day after the first Quidditch Match of the season, and the Slytherin common room was still a-buzz with their win.
But there were still a few unanswered questions... Like why had Kay, the unpassable keeper, left? And what had happened to that fir- no, second year seeker? Was she in the Hospital while the match was on? Anyway, that Baseley kid had had to replace the seeker, leaving the new captain, Cyrus Roberts (the gay one) with a problem. But he found a replacement Chaser just in time, Rita Scannell. But what people were talking about the most was the new beater. Last years left beater, Sawyer Tewkesbury, to everyones surprise, quit. So a new beater had to be found, and fast. And who should get the place? Not a strong year six guy that's for sure. Instead, they whole of Slytherin was shocked (and possibly slightly mortified) when a really short, red, long haired first year clad in Green and Silver robes carrying a heavy beaters bat flew onto the pitch with the rest of the team.
But less than ten minutes into the game, and they totally understood Roberts choice. She could bloody well hit those bludgers!
However, the Gryffindors had also constructed a new, and better, team. Only three players from last year managed to get back onto their team.
Their new team consisted of their three chasers-the two Jones's and some girl in year five or something. They added two totally new people to their team. Both of those 'kids' were new to Hogwarts this year. The Canadian girl (beater) and the blonde haired guy (seeker). But, boy, they were fantastic flyers. The last new addition was another girl in year five or so, she's the keeper, and to be honest, she was quite good too.
So to have beaten this new, better, Gryffindor team without their unpassable keeper and the flitting fi-second year seeker was a great achievement, and it seemed that everyone was talking about it.
Zada was being praised left right and centre for her flying and the amazing catch she'd made in the match. Most had doubted that she would be the best replacement, but they took back their words. The rest of the team were also very popular in the common room. And the McCreadie girl (the first and only one in Slytherin!) was actually being noticed! But she refused to talk to anyone who wasn't in her year or on the quidditch team.
