[ the monday after zads and morfy changed their tables ]
It was 10 minutes until the end of breakfast and the Great Hall was full of pupils and teachers alike. Most of the first years had started heading off to their first lesson, and some of the second years had too. All of the third years and above were still there.
Drint looked at the students from the staff table. noisy bunch of...
Looking back down at his breakfast, his eyes slid to the time tables that he needed to hand out. Flicking through them he found that Zada's change of time table had caused 14 people's time tables to change.
Finishing his breakfast quickly, Drint stood up and walked over to the Ravenclaw table and to where a small band of year threes were clustered.
They stopped their happy chatter when they noticed Drint stop beside where they were sitting. They watched as Drint looked down at a piece of parchment he was carrying.
"Can all of you come to my office before first lesson please."
"What for?" Nick asked.
"Because, Mr Devlin, you are to be issued with a new time table."
"What's wrong with our time tables at the moment, Sir?"
Drint mentally faceplamed at Venns question, but just rolled his eyebrows instead. "Because there was a problem."
"But it's been fine." Stuart said.
What a bunch of complete idiots...
"Yes Mr MacKenzie. I'm sure your knowledge of the schools problems is mcuh more than mine." Drint replied sarcastically.
The group of Ravenclaw's exchanged amused looks. Drint searched the rest of the Ravenclaw table. "Could you pass on the message to Mr and Miss Rahasiria and Miss Kiln." he told Nick, Venn, Eva and Stuart.
"What about Storm?"
"His time table hasn't changed." Drint left their table, annoyed, and walked over to the Hufflepuff third years; leaving behind four slightly confused and amused Ravenclaws.
Nali, Lucy and Cynthia were all talking and didn't realise Drint wanted to speak to them until he was like right behind them and cleared his throat. I imagine they jumped? "Can you three come to my office before first lesson please. Could you pass the message onto Mr Kelly and Mr Ollivan as well, thank you." and he left before they could say anything, obviously not wanting a repeat of the Ravenclaw experience. Thank God he didn't have to pass the message onto any Gryffindors.
Finally, he walked over to the Slytherin table to where Carm and Zada were sitting. "Miss Baseley. Could you come to my office before lessons start, well, in a couple of minutes; to collect your new time table please."
"Sure sir." Zada said lazily, then quickly continued her conversation with Carm.
Then he walked down the table to where Morfin was sitting. As Drint walked up to him, the second year he was talking to, having seen Drint, suddenly stood up and left the table.
Morfin turned round in his seat. "Sir?" he asked.
"Could you come to my office before lessons start to collect your new time table please."
"Okay."
Drint nodded. Job done. Walking out of the Hall, he made his way to his office to wait the arrival of the year threes.
