The fourths year common room was a hive of activity and socialising as the whole year, except perhaps one or two, were bustling to talk to everyone and anyone.
Ravenclaws were catching up with Slytherins and Hufflepuffs were chatting happily to Gryffindors.
The healthy babble quickly filled the room with noise; the large number of students also didn't help to keep the quiet.
Jack was pushing through the swarm people to find Lilly. "Hey." he said happily when he found her talking to Sara and Zach. "Jack! Hi. Haven't seen you in so long(!) Must be at least a few hours." She hugged him and resumed her conversation with Sara and Zach, who were assessing Jack suspiciously.
Other people were chatting happily with other people.

Joshua and group of other boys were merrily discussing the antics of their summer holidays. "I went to Grece in the first week, fulll, like, bursting, with unromanced, dark babes." bragged one of the group, a tall Hufflepuff called Paul. "Anyone else get any summer loovin?" He grinned.

"What dyu guys think of Saunders then? She's our new head of year. I'm guessing that she's nowhere near as fun as Grady, but they're sort of the same ' friendship group '. " Someone said really extra loudly. The whole room turned to look at them and shout back their replies.

[D: no replies to paul then] After the moment of loud, open discussion, the group returned to what they had been previously talking about. The question [because you've gone smelly amy!] eventually rolled around to Joshua. "How'sabout you, Joshy. Any sexy Egyptians?" He pulled a cheerful, contemplative face, shaking his head from side to side slightly. "No Eygptians much really. Though at the casino's everyone was in short toga's and not much else." Some woo's went up from the group and someone made a crude remark about gaurds and spears. Joshua pulled a face, "No! Definately not! Although I did find some most attractive eye candy." "OoOoOooh, spilll dude!" He looked as though he was about to indulge them for a moment. "Nah, it's boring really, we didn't do anything much." "Aww, poor Josh didn't get any." This earned Paul a hard slap round the head. "Not everything is about sex Paul! He had a bit more dignity than some people I know." "Ow! Geez, that was harsh. I'm fine with not having any dignity anyway. Besides, wasn't that a bit risky, even for your standards, to date a guy on holiday? Was your dad like, not there?" Joshua shrugged. "What can I say. There's something different about him. And haven't you heard about locking doors?" More sniggers passed around the group about what happened behind locked doors.
