Robyn had her head leant against the back of the seat. The train was jogging slowly up and down. She smiled. She’d just informed Kynse that Anya would be going to Wales on Sunday. He could track her from there, but soon Anya’s powers would be hers and she wouldn’t have to spend any more time at this stupid school learning stuff she’d already learned.
She hopped off the train when it got to the platform, said a rushed goodbye to Jake; Auria had stayed at the school; and walked through the barrier. She rushed through the station and outside. She stepped through the pouring rain into a pub, having already morphed into her usual appearance. She went up to the bartender.
“Quinine darkness. No ice.”
He nodded and made the drink. NV looked at the glass. It was a purple-black liquid. NV looked at the guy. There was ice in the drink. “Thank you.” She said calmly. He nodded and she left the bar and walked to the back of the pub. She leant against the wall and waited. Ten minutes later, a section of the wall opened. She nodded at the bartender again and walked through. It closed after she stepped in, leaving her in momentary blackness.
A light appeared about ten metres away. She followed it. Suddenly there was no more floor underneath her. She was falling through the air and although it was no unfamiliar experience, it scared her to think she wasn’t in control. She looked down, not that it made any difference. Pitch black. She quickly pulled herself together though and created a very potent defence. Once she knew she was safe, she tried to sense whether there was a floor nearby. She’d never been very good at this, but Varen had helped her a little. She couldn’t find anything, so instead she made a light. She nearly jumped out her defence when she saw Varen in front of her. He nodded and the air stopped rushing. Her hair collapsed next to her face. She sneered at Varen. “Finished your test(?)”
He nodded, and then let them fall slowly to the floor. “Let’s go.” He said, and they did.

The date is Monday, first December. I’m going to stage school; oh goody, it’s going to be so much fun(!)
NV walked through the doors. Varen said it would be best if she was Robyn, so she was back under the mask. She stepped into the main hall and spotted someone she recognised. She walked over to her. “Hey, Tanuka? I’m Robyn from school.”
Tenuka nodded. “I know, and it’s Tenuka.”
Robyn nodded and the two girls started chatting.
It’s the end of the first day, and Tenuka’s that Masori. Her powers are advanced for her age. It’s going to be good taking them. She’s also fabulous at singing and acting. It must be something with being in the Masori, Varen’s great at both as well. There’s so much that I have to learn.

Christmas Day. I told Varen to go bugger off. Spent the whole day with Natrix!
---
Monday, eighth December. Last day of stage school. Tenuka’s practically given me her powers! I can act! And sing, a little. New Year’s is going to be good too. Natrix is coming over again. I can’t believe I’m doing this. If Varen found out he’d be so angry with me. But I don’t care about him at the moment. Talk later.
---
NV knocked on the door and it was opened by Natrix. NV stepped towards him. “Hi. I bought some drink.” She said holding up a bottle of wizard pink champagne. Drint smiled and lets her in. An hour later and the whole bottle was finished. Both of them were slightly drunk. NV sidled up to him and kissed him. Suddenly the door was blown open. Both wizards stood up quickly. A man in a cloak entered the room. He glared at NV, and the stare sent shivers down her spine. “Come here.” The voice commanded. Drint stared at the man, but NV took a step back, knowing sort of what was going to happen next. The man known as Varen took out his wand and NV tried to stutter something. He held up a hand to silence her. Her mouth shut and Drint knew better than to try and speak as well. Varen turned towards him and pointed his wand at Drint’s heart. Natrix put a hand down to his wand pocket, but Varen shook his head. “No-one must know.”
NV walked up next to Drint, crying silently. “I’m so sorry Natrix!” she said, then she kissed him passionately.
“No-one must know.” Varen repeated and Drint’s life was ended harshly with a single simple flash of bright green light. Drint slumped to the floor. NV’s silent crying turned into loud hysterics. She collapsed on Drint’s body and sobbed. “I’m so sorry!” she cried.
“Get a hold of yourself, stop being so attached Ezaron.” Varen said angrily.
NV turned to stare at him, her face red with anger, humiliation and tears. “Shut up!” she yelled, launching herself at him. He dropped his wand and brought his hands up in a defence position. NV bounced cleanly away and fell to the ground ten feet away. But she regained her composure quickly and threw a powerful attack at him; her wand lay forgotten at Drint’s side.
A fierce fight ensued. Forces were being thrown from both people into the other person’s defence. Neither could trick the other, it was down to whoever ran out of strength first.
“You cannot beat me Ezaron.” Varen said simply. He could tell NV was nearing exhaustion.
“DON’T CALL ME EZARON!” she screamed in frustration, and then she collapsed next to Drint’s life less body, screaming and sobbing.
Varen looked at her, disgusted, and left her.
