Kik would've been concerned about writing a letter. But it took her half an hour to write 4 lines to her parents, so she didn't pursue it.

And then Charles appeared, grinning. Kyli leapt up and hugged him.
Kik made a face and turned away [soz for pp], and then Kyli and Charles sat down.
"where've you been?" asked Kyli. Charles shrugged, "walking..."
It was Kyli's turn to shrug. "alright..."
then they went to lessons. boooring!
