[The long-awaited (or prehaps not...) first date. Or at least the first part of it, I'll write the rest later. No, I will, promise!]
May flew around the room, giving the clock worried looks and wishing she was allowed to use magic. He’d be here in two minutes and she was nowhere near ready! Smoothing down the green top that had taken her an age to choose and wondering for the thousandth time whether her knee-length skirt was too short she grabbed her mascara and pulled the wand (mascara wand, duh!) over her eyelashes, managing to smidge it spectacularly over her nose as she did so and running into the bathroom to grab a tissue.
Leo, having arrived at a friend’s house down the road by Floo five minutes previously, found himself at May front gate. He checked his watch. Oh dear. He was early, five minutes early, in fact. And extensive experience told him that arriving early at a girl’s house was almost certainly going to get the date off to a bad start; they really didn’t like their beauty regime being interrupted. He sighed and sat on the front step, watching the second hand tick its way slowly around the watch’s face.
Having now removed the mascara from her nose May threw several things into a bag, including her wand (‘just in case’). Then she glanced at the clock, oh crap, seven!
As the minute hand ticked over to the hour Leo got up from where he’d been sat and made his way hesitantly up the front path, checking he hadn’t crushed the flowers, took a quick calming breath, and rang the doorbell.
May jumped as the oorbell rang, quickly slicking on some lip-gloss the grabbed her bag and flew down the stairs to answer it...
