Sei was fiddling with the feathers on the end of his quill, letting the words wash over his head in a dull hum and the rest of the class fade away into blurs around him. He couldn't stop thinking about 'not Dave' that day where everything changed. He felt the hot prick at the back of his eyes as tears threatened to form, but blinked them rapidly away. He bent low over his parchment and tried to destract himself in scribbled down something relevant the teacher was talking about.
