[to almost catching up to a fairly normal time, but then smelly half term came along -it's normally a time for us to rot away in front of the computors and get loooaads done!- and nobody came online!]
so here's a wonderful summary cause we still havent gotten them into the christmas holidays and in the real world we're only a few weeks away from easter. i rest mah case!
Ravenclaw vs Hufflepuff match results:
The weather was quite windy and fairly murky and so both teams were equal half an hour into the game at 50:50. It soon cleared up nicely into bright sun and light rain so the game got into full swing.
Ravenclaws new chaser Venn almost fell from her broom from an incredibly light glancing blow from a weakly hit bludger.
Hufflepuffs new beater Kyle only caused a fluke disruption against the oposing team. He was also accused of bumphing to prevent a goal from Ravenclaw chaser and captain Angelina. This was later ovveruled and put down to a slippery bat and bad aim.
The scores soon escalated to R100:H90.
The game ended when Ravenclaws new seeker Tom caught the snitch making the score R360:H200 [after almost everyone else on both teams and in the stands had seen it] Hufflepuffs seeker blames his innability to catch the snitch on being simultaniously almost flown into by wild chaser Venn, and Kyle accidentally hitting the bludger at her but hitting him instead.
Lets hope those bright new stars don't burnt out too quickly[!]
The Christmas Ball media coverage:
After having spent the night partying and generally having a good time with our mates, it seemed only the right kind of thing to do to write about it. After all, those event planners and teachers deserve some kind of recognition for the great night they put together.
"It was an awesome time filled with great live music and dancing" says a cheery student from 6H. "I really loved The York Notes!"
"The students seemed to enjoy themselves. My night was most entertaining too." Replies slyly smiling potions master Drint when asked how he thought the ball went. Still refusing to comment further on his mystery lady friend though.
The night kicked off with a rousing tune from The Staines and even the castles ghosts joined in. Sir Nick and the Grey Lady seemed to be hitting it off.
Thats all we have space for in this weeks issue, but we do have just enough room to squeeze in a little farewell wish and bid you all an absolutely fabulous Christmas!
[and i think thats about it, now vamoosh! and get writing their winter holidays!]
