Charles looked at her, awkward. "you think Elsie's hair is silly?" he attempted a joke.

May was in the corner, drumming her fingers on the table. She was vaguely aware of CHarles and Kik talking, but she didn't care that much. She was waiting for Leo. Who hadn't turned up.
