Everyone was either:
(i) talking and laughing with their partner
(ii) trying and failing to turn on the computer, but still having a little giggle about it
(iii) or getting increasingly annoyed with the stupid grey box infront of her and the useless first years she was paired up with

Sophia wandered over to her friends who were struggling with one of the computers, seeming to think that petting it might make it more friendly.
"Guys... y'just hv't push th'butt'n." She whispered, surrupticiously casting a glance at Grady, he was off in another world, biro (cause he likes muggle pens too) slipping slowly out of his hand where he was leaning on it and staring off at the ceiling.

Tenuka nodded and grinned. She looked at her blonde headed partner and smiled. She looked on the big black flat thing and saw, what she assumed, was one of these 'buttons'. She pressed it, then nearly feel off her chair in surprise. A green light had appeared next to the button. She watched as it slowly turned orange. "Now what?" she whispered to Reid, slightly afraid the computer might attack. "Do you think it's awake?"

Reid just smiled meekly.

Sophia gave a hearty laugh.
"It's'awake'llright. Watch out thou'rll it'll eat'cha"

Tenuka grinned and sat up. But another minute went by and nothing happened. "Maybe, that wasn't the right button." she said slowly.

Reid nodded. "How about that one with that wierd O symbol on it." he said, pointing to the biggest button and the bg grey box next to the computer.

Tenuka pressed it bravely. Both students then jumped as the computer wirred into life.
"Well done Reid! That was a great idea!" she said grinning at him.

Reid blushed.

Grady was experiencing his circular dream.

And in the real world Sophia watched her friends as they suceeded in climbing the mountain that was, turning on a computer.

Tenuka smiled when a blue screen popped up. But it faltered when she realised that she had no idea what to do now.
"What's that white arrow thing?" Reid asked. He put his finger up to the screen and tried to move it. "It doesn't move."

Tenuka flopped on the desk, giving up. "It's too hard." she mumbled.
But her hand had nudged the mouse, and Reid noticed that when the little grey oval thing moved, the arrow on the screen had moved.

"The grey blob moves the arrow!!" he said excitedly, nudging Tenuka to sit up.
She slowly moved the mouse, and they both grinned when the arrow moved.

"Okay, what now?"
"Well move the arrow over that 'Guest' symbol thing."
The arrow was moved, and there it rested.

"And?"
"Well we need a way to say that we want to go in there, so to turn it on we pressed a button. Is there a button on the grey blob?"
Reid picked it up to have a look. He held it by the head and felt something click under his fingers. He shrugged and continued to look at the blob, when he nearly fell out of his seat in shock. There was a sudden blare of start up music that seemed to be coming out of the computer itself.

He exchanged a glance with Tenuka, they both grinned.

The chimes of the microsoft welcome theme reached Grady's ears and he snapped free of his daydream. reafhejesjakflwa, can't they let me enjoy my dreams; i'm too shy to ask the big doofus out, dsajkejkasfngjia, darned kids. oh screwts, I sound like my dad there. -excpet not. He laughed to himself and wandered over to see what all the fuss was about. The rest of the class was already there, admiring the muggle magic, or mugjic, as it was dubbed henceforth.
"Hey! Well done you guys! Have 20 points each for getting so far so quickly!"
He beamed at them, pleased with their efforts.
"I'll entrust you to tell the rest of the class about how you got onto the home screen. -the thing you're on now."
