[sorry, random catchphrase that apparated outta nowhere thanks to long hot days in Spain with nought but my faily for company... not that I didn't enjoy our perfect trip- esp. the pool lol]
Kyli felt the heat pressing against her, somthering her as it seemed to block her skin despite the sweat pouring from it. In the background of her head, she could hear nothing but a persistent ringing, that had been solemnly attatched to her for all of this unsurpased heat wave.
"Mum, I can stand twaiting for Harold to sort out the heat control in this place" she called down the stairs, "I'm goingout to walk Pignu" Knowing that the sweltering ady currently standing red-faced in the kitchen levitating sprouts would have no energy to refuse this demand, she picked up one half of her WalkHold, the other half being attatched round Pignu's neck and, without waiting for a reply, set out the back door of the house, rattling a treat tine to call her Crup to her.
Had she not been living with it for the past week or so, the heat outside would have knocked her completely off-gaurd, slapping her in the face and drowning out her air supply with its overwhelming humidity. As it was, she merely certified Pignu to be following her and strode off sown the garden pather, stepping over DAn's carefully laid exploding paving slabs that she counted herself lucky to be advised on. At the end of this path, managing by some miracle to accomplish the trek down it without suffering any notable bodily harm, she rested her hand on the gate post, focusing her gaze purposefully on what lay beyond the feild in front of her. She was well-aware there was nothing immediate to stay her hand, it being a walk she'd made often enough throughout her childhood, but the scarily real dream she had witnessed a few days back had plagued her subsequent times of rest, filling her with both a fearful longing to make it even more of a reality, and an all-ecompassing dread of what lay in store if she should do so. The scene in front of her was common and uneventful enough, merely a simple path, that wound past the terraced houses and out along towards the centre of the shopping haven, yet the various unruly trees that lay beyond it, interspersed with all manner of bushes and creeprs that snaked up the trunks and out onto the path as if making some bold attempt at a bid for freedom, denoted far more striking image, that though pleasant enough to most, at the current time was sufficient to considerably affeect Kyli's reluctance to continue. As far as forests went, those trees and the several behind them made up a surprisingly tiny collective, even with the many magical enlargements that had been adminisitered to it to make the surrounding area a more interesting place in which to live, and they held no menace in those outstretched branches - the real cause of Kyli's fear being from the recollection of such particulars from that dream of hers which rendered her certain that, dream or reality, it had occurred inside that host of trees. For a while she had toyed with the idea of exploring them, in search of any discoveyr that would shed some light on her curious dreams and, mroe importantly, her mother's curious behaviour. Now, at last she had the oppurtuniy to do so, all she lacked was the resolve.
However, the shortly ensuing yelp that reach her from over the other side of the fence against wich she was currently paused in indecision, was enough to power her over the hedge, regardlessof all previous fluctuations, in the desire to ensure the well-being of her beloved pet.
It was not long before she had pulled his small curly-haired figure from the bush in which it had become entangled, and thus she stood staring up at the perhaps not so foreboding forest, wishing she could at least have the comfort of her wand, whatever the outcome of her expedition might be, regardless of the fact that she would be out of range of the illegal anti-Trace sheild that her brother had concocted so as to further enable his trouble-making activities. She took a long breath, not much improved by the overwhelming heat, and was about to advance into the forest, when out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a man lougned lazily on the nearby bench. Quite what attracted her eye to this man, whether it was his vibrant red hair, the surprise of someone actually being out at all in the incredible heat, or just the curious radiation he seemed to emit, she could not determine, but as she drew closer she was able to properly certify that this was indeed the man in her dreams, although to term it like that sounds very misleading...
Throwing away that last thought, she moved his way over to where he was sat/
