Kik laughed behind her hand at Chrissy's flouncing. She turned to Kyli ''You're so mean!'' But she was smiling and partially laughing as she said it

Charles noticed the other people begin to drift apart. He didn't understand any of the conversation that had just happened. Who was Morfin Slytherin? And who was his famous ancestor? and what had they meant by duelling?
He watched a girl with reddish brown hair bend over a desk. She was doodling with her quill. He made his way over.
Kyli felt someone standing behind her. She hastiy scribbled out her doodle. She turned to see who it was- and almost gasped.
The guy in front of her was tall and strikingly handsome. His hair fell over his face, almost covering an eye, but not quite. He was so... handsome...
She blushed, and hoped he wasn't a telepathist.
"hey, what are you doing" Charles asked, smiling slighty.
Kyli hid her blush. "nothing... just writing letters. To my mum- she's such a worry..." she pushed the other letter to on side, hoping he wouldn't notice, "I don't think I've seen you round here before, what's your name,"
"Charles." he said, "Charles Smith."

Kik jogged down the stairs from the Girls Dormitories. She tried to do COMC homework but to no avail. She came to Kyli, naturally. Only she stopped when she saw a well fit guy talking to crimson Kyli. She quickly took in the situation, Kyli had an obvious crush on this fit guy. Kik went up to them ''Hey Kyli, can't do COMC homework, can you help me? And hi, I don't think i've seen you before. What's your name?''

"Charles smith" Charles repeated, turning to look at the other girl, "who're you?"
Kyli almost shook her head. Typical, blundering Kik. grrr! still, she tried not to look too annoyed, "erm, yeh I'll help you- it's not that hard"

Kyli turned back to Charles, "that's Kik." she grinned, "she's got special talent for changing the colour of feathers." she paused, "so , how come we haven't seen you in any of the lessons so far?"
"I was ill" Charles said, "I've been cooped up in bed for the past two weeks. I was too ill to catch the train."

"poor you! Imagine missing the last two weeks of the summer holidays" said Kyli.
"nah, it wasn't too bad- I've been reading all our school books trying to get a grasp on the whole wizard thing." replied Charles
" don't worry about it" kyli said, "Kik's muggle born too,"
"Muggle-born?" Charles did a something with his eyebrows, and Kyli had to remind herself not to stare. He was so cute...
"it's the term for people with non-magic parents- muggles." Kyli said, wondering what it would be like to have grown up not knowing basic stuff like that.
As if he'd read her mind, Charles said, "It's so weird y'know, living all your life beleiving that magic is the stuff of fairy tales- and then coming here and it's like, real"
