Kyra was walking down the staircase. She had just been to the Owlery to send a letter to Simon. Jack walked into the great hall. There was no-one there. He walked out again and bumped into someone. “So-oh, hey Kyra…” “Hey Jack!” she said brightly. She flashed him a smile. He felt his brain melt. “Wanna go to Hogsmeade?” she asked quietly. “Huh? We can’t…” he trailed off as Kyra smiled at him again. “Ah but we can! Me and a couple of mates are going for New Year. Wanna come?” “Okay. I’ll bring Anya.” He said happily. He was going to a New Year party! He looked back at Kyra, he expected to see her looking happy, but what he saw in font of him was…not the Kyra he knew. Kyra pouted at him. “Jack…” she whined. “Does she have to come?” she fluttered her eyelashes at him; she knew she was in control. She had him wrapped round her little finger. “O…Okay…” he said smiling at her. Kyra gave him a big smile when he said that. “That’s better! Okay, well meet here tonight at 10pm. We’re leaving then.” She smiled again and walked away. He watched her leave; then shook his head. What had he just agreed to do? Oh well. He walked back to the common room.

Jack walked into the common room. Anya was sitting on one of the sofas. She said hi, but Jack just waved at her instead of sitting down and talking to her. He needed to be alone for while. “Sorry…” he said to her; then he ran up the stairs to his dorm. He passed Morfin on the stairs. They looked at each other then walked their opposite ways.
He landed on his bed with a soft ‘Kschhhh’ from the mattress. He stared at the ceiling. But there was nothing interesting there, and feeling his eyes droop, he rolled over and fell asleep.

When he woke up, it was ten to ten. “Oh sh[zz]…” he jumped up and changed into a clean pair of jeans and a dark green top. He ran down to the entrance hall and skidded to a halt. There was no-one there. Did Kyra say tonight? Just then, Kyra walked up from the dungeons. She looked fabulous. “Uh…you look…” “Gorgeous?” she helped. “Yeah!” he smiled. “So is anyone else actually gonna show up?” he asked. “No idea. But let’s go without them!” she took his arm and half walked, half dragged him outside. “Wait!” Jack was now having second thoughts. What if they got caught. As if reading his mind, Kyra told him not to be so silly, and that no-one would ever find out. They walked down to the gates. There was a padlock, but it was open. “Do you think the gates squeak?” she asked him. “Probably…[insert squeak disappearing spell here]” he muttered quietly. The gate opened silently. “Let’s go!” Kyra said smiling at him, and she grabbed his arm again. They were through the gates.

“Kyra…are you sure this is a good idea?” he asked her again. “Jack, are you always such a big rule follower? Break free of the rules that bind you! Maybe, you might like it.” She smiled at him in the darkness. “Come on! Hogsmeade’s only a little further…”
They walked for another two minutes when Jack started to hear some music. As they got closer, some flashing lights accompanied the music. “Let’s go Jack!” Kyra said, smiling again. “Where are we going? And I still don’t think we should be here…” “Well learn to live with the danger. It’s exciting.” She said boredly. ‘Jaxio wouldn’t be complaining…’ That thought hit Jack into place. He wouldn’t complain. Yes, he would have to stoop to Jaxio’s level, but he didn’t care. Only Kyra would see.

There were several places to go. But most of them were packed with wizards and witches celebrating the New Year. They walked into the nearest one. Well walked is quite right, more like, Kyra dragged Jack into the nearest one. Inside, it was very loud. Music was blasting out of invisible speakers, and flashing lights were everywhere. “Come on! Let’s go get a drink!” Kyra shouted to Jack over all the noise.
He followed her to the bar. What should he get? He could get anything and no-one would know! The bartender looked like he would serve anyone anything. “Right, let’s see…I’ll have a Firewhisky with a cherry-hint. Jack?” “Uh…” Jack looked at the vast array of drinks. “I’ll just stick to something I know…Mangopinetiser-” he was interrupted by Kyra. “Add some Firewhisky to that please.” Jack stared at her. Was she an alcoholic? They took they’re drinks and looked for somewhere to sit. There was nowhere. Jack sipped some of his drink. The Firewhisky felt like it was burning his mouth. Kyra was drinking it as if she had it everyday. Maybe she was…
She put her empty glass on the side. “Wanna dance?” she asked him. “I’m not fin-” but she took his glass out of his hand and put it on the side next to her glass. “You are now. So…” “Okay…” they walked a step forward, and were already in the centre of the crowd. They started to dance, but not silly ballroom dancing; proper disco dancing.

[this part took FOREVER! to write. I don't really know why. It just did. so yea...here is teh kissy...]
Seven Firewhisky’s later, and Kyra was feeling dizzy. “Jack…” she said quietly. “Let’s go outside.” “Okay…” They walked out; Kyra still had a drink in her hand. It was green and had smoke coming out the top. “What is that?” Jack asked her as they stepped outside. “No idea.” She grinned at him. He took it of her. “Jack…” she said playfully. “Give it back. It was nice…” she walked towards him. “Tonight was nice…” she continued, moving closer to him. He didn’t move, just watched. She was smiling again. Why did she always have to smile? The cup flopped to his side as she moved closer, and closer. She came to a stop inches from him.
She put her arm round his neck and pulled him to her. Jack was caught by surprise, but then eased into it. The cup fell to the floor with a dull thud. At first he had been rigid, but then softened up, and began to kiss her back. He felt like a lightening bolt had hit him, and his body was on fire. Then he broke away, their faces still inches apart. They stared into each other’s eyes for what felt like an eternity. Kyra’s arm moved from his back and down his arm. “Let’s go…” she whispered. He followed obediently.

Summer tottered out of the bar, blinking slighty. Phew, it was hot in there... she'd had a few drinks, bought by some random guys, and the world was beginning to move in front of her eyes. She shook her head briskly; stay in control Summer, stay in control. Staying in control, she stared about herself. The freak from 2G was standing nearby. She started somewhat when she noticed who he was with- Kyra. She'd thought that those two were over...
Oh gosh! she'd kissed him! and he'd kissed back! Wow!

"oh my gosh!" Summer said, accompanied by that very blonde (chloe) hand flap.

[very blonde (chloe) hand flap!!! hilarious!!!]
Holding hands, they walked silently, but happily, back up to the castle. They walked through the gates. "You go ahead Jack, I'm gonna stay here a while..." "But-" "I'll catch up with you." She said smiling. "Okay..." He walked slowly away. When he had walked far enough, she ran towards some trees, and was sick.
Several minutes later, she walked towards the castle looking at the stars.

Summer somehow managed to make her way back up to the castle. She'd been drinking all evening, and was finding it hard to walk in a straight line.
