[baaaasically, Tess just signed off leaving me all alone without another soul in sight, the fireworks thirty day trial ran out yesterday, I've watched the whole of the current Brackenwood series. twice. the Sims 2 is so samey it hurts, and scrubs isn't on until like, seven. So I'm starting this thread, just to give me something to do. I know that some of the lessons before lunch aren't over, but do you really need to do all of them? besides, if you're coming into this thread then you can just pretend that you've already been to the lesson, simple as. So! without further delay, i present to you, the fittingly titled. . j u m p
Dark clouds rolled in from the north, promising the coming storm. They were frequent in this part of England and often blew in from the colder parts of Europe during the late autumn. Biting, cold winds accompanied them on their journey, whistling round the spires of the castles towers and sending crows flying with ruffled feathers. The glass in the windows had been replaced only a few minutes ago and Madame Pearl looked up at the rain beginning to patter upon them with a sense of gratitude that the water was outside. Placing her cup of tea down she crossed the room in her quiet way and added a few more logs to the gently crackling fire before spreading the flames across them with a poker. She set it back down in the holder and returned to her tea and biscuits. Hearing a few sparks begin to form. She cast a weary eye up from her mug at the boy who she'd brought in this morning. It was strange, the way he muttered something incomprehensible every so often, very softly, very calmly, but gibberish to her none the less. Sighing. She stood back up and quietly walked over to the bed, she put a hand on his forehead, she looked slightly concerned. It had been ice cold half an hour ago. Perhaps her hands were just cold. She pulled her hand back with a jerk as a small electric spark ran up her arm. Frowning a bit at the small burn on the tips of her fingers, she cast a few temperature controlling spells and pulled the covers over him a bit more. His face was twitching slightly, into a mix of fear, annoyance and something she couldn't quite place. She shook her head as he lapsed into another session of incoherent mumbling. Settling back down to her cup of tea, she cast a glance at the clock, soon it would be lunch time, hopefully the first year and the second year wouldn't be in at the same time again and none of the madness she'd previously seen would occur. There would definitely be detentions if they disturbed anyone in here. She looked around, then again, the rest of the school seemed to be able to keep themselves in one piece for the first day at least. He really had landed at an awkward angle. She doubted the fall had only been 'a few' feet. It must have been a good five at least. With two fractures in his right arm, a broken ankle, half shattered shoulder joints and three ribs out of place, it was very unlikely that it could have been anything less than a seven foot fall. He may not have damaged so much, she thought to herself, if he wasn't so, thin. I'll make sure the house elves bring up some good, rich food this evening she made a note to herself and set her rememberall to glow later on when she needed to remember it. Another glance up at the clock told her lunch would begin in three minutes, she heard the loud talking of fourth years returning from Herbology and the even louder talking of the fifth years coming back from care of magical creatures. She was surprised to find that news had spread so quickly, the first years had only had break time and yet most of the conversations were to do with falling from brooms, suicide, blown up paintings, a melted toilet cubicle, attention seeking and debates on whether it was Si or Se. She shook her head with a sigh and dipped a rich tea into her mug.
